The short version
You can play without an account. HunchMap stores only what is needed to score games, protect the public leaderboard and remember a World Tour purchase on your device.
Who controls the data
HunchMap is operated by realb.it, 103–105 O'Riordan Street, Mascot NSW 2020, Australia. Contact hello@realb.it for privacy requests.
Game and leaderboard data
The live service stores a random game identifier, mode, guesses, server-calculated distance and score, completion time, and any public nickname you choose. A one-way hash derived from the network address supplied by Cloudflare limits abuse and duplicate entries; the game database does not store the raw address.
Payments and local storage
Stripe processes payment details. We receive a transaction reference, product, status and timing—not your full card number. Your browser stores a World Tour session reference and small interface preferences. Clearing site data removes these local records and may require receipt-assisted access restoration.
Purpose, retention and sharing
We use this data to operate scoring, publish the nickname you submit, prevent obvious abuse, provide purchased access, support buyers and meet accounting obligations. Game sessions may be deleted after 90 days; leaderboard entries may remain public until removal is requested. Transaction records may be retained as legally required. Hosting and payment providers process limited data to supply their services.
Your choices
Do not submit a real name as your nickname if you prefer not to make it public. Email us to request access, correction or deletion of personal data we control.
